To pop a pimple, or not to pop a pimple? That is the question

Hello Girls!

Pimples, acne, blackheads, spots… I’m sure, you would do everything to get rid of these skin imperfections and have beautiful skin. And here comes the question: to pop them or not? As it appears, those who claim that it’s better to leave a pimple alone, aren’t necessarily right. On the other hand, we shouldn’t agree with these who are for popping every single pimple. So what to do?

The rule is simple: if you don’t want your face skin to develop inflammations, and then blemishes, pop the pimple. However, be careful! Is the spot yellow and pointy-ended? Don’t touch it because it can severely damage your complexion.

When is the best time to pop a pimple?

If you do this in a right moment, you can avoid these unpleasant inflammations of skin. It all depends on how many plasma an acne contains. If the pimple carries just small amount of the liquid, the blemish is supposed to heal up fast. How to find out how many plasma a pimple contains? You will feel underneath your fingers a small swelling (plasma) and notice redness. Moreover, this skin lesion causes moderate pain, isn’t spread and doesn’t contain pus yet. However, bear in mind that a big spot, clogged blackheads, and other changes connected with hair follicle mustn’t be popped.

How to remove a pimple?

First and foremost, wash your hands and face. Don’t use preparations containing alcohol, acids and retinoid. Remove all pimples using either a tissue or sterile gauze. Surround the lesion with one of the materials (a tissue or sterile gauze) and start delicately pressing the skin around it. Don’t use your fingernails but your fingertips. The content of the pimple, which is pus and a small amount of blood, should sit either on the gauze or the tissue. Be prepared that the little wound may generate plasma. What’s next? You mustn’t treat this fresh wound with disinfecting products nor protein congealing preparations (for example, alcohol or acids). Instead of accelerating healing process of the lesion, they will only worsen its condition. What might be surprising, it’s the plasma that carries the healing features. Also, remember not to remove the dried-out plasma since it may lead to scar development. The crust will fall out on its own when the wound heals up.

Do you know now how and when to remove pimples the safe way?
