At-home SPA! How to make bath salts (DIY)

Hello girls!

Is there anything more pleasant than a long, scented bath after a hard day? I’m sure you sometimes cannot wait for this moment of the evening:) What can make the moment of relaxation more pleasant? A self-composed bath salt! 🙂

I have prepared for you a few easy yet effective recipes for a fragrant bath salt. I chose the ones I always have in my bathroom. Don’t wait for a special occasion, just do it 🙂

Energizing bath salt

You will need:

  • 1 cup of Himalayan salt,
  • 10 drops of orange essential oil,
  • 5 drops of grapefruit essential oil,
  • 1 tablespoon of Sweet Almond Oil (you can replace it with Avocado oil or Cottonseed oil).

Combine the salt with the oils and place in a container. Thanks to the content of Sweet Almond oil, your product will have moisturising properties.

Lavender bath salt

You will need:

  • 1 cup of coarse sea salt,
  • 2 tablespoons of essential lavender oil,
  • dried lavender flowers,
  • purple food colourant (optional).

Mix the salt with the oil, add a handful of dry lavender leaves and a bit of the food colourant. The last component is not necessary, as it does not provide any beneficial properties to the cosmetic or our skin. It’s just about the nice colour:))

What’s more, you can prepare rose bath salt the same way. In this case, you will need some rose oil, dry rose petals and a hint of pink food colourant.

Relaxing bath salt

You will need:

  • 1 cup of sea salt,
  • 1 tablespoon of dried mint,
  • 1 tablespoon of dried rosemary.

This is my personal favourite bath salt which is also very easy to prepare. I love it thanks to the amazing scent!

Combine all the ingredients together. Of course, feel free to modify the recipes to obtain the best result for you. Instead of the herbs, you can add essential oils (I still prefer the version with dry leaves).

Moreover, get yourself some nice containers for the DIY bath salts. Bear in mind that they have very intense scents so the jars or containers you use, will not be reused for something else in the future. Also, I chose seethrough jars to see the nice colours because I like the way they decorate my bathroom! If you decide to decorate them with hand-made labels, you have a  perfect gift for your friends and family 🙂
