How to make yourself look younger with make-up? It’s simple!
Hi, Girls!
I know that perhaps this post is not intended for each of you but certainly interested might be your mothers, grandmothers… great-grandmothers (?)
I was inspired by my Mum who is a distinguished lady who still enjoys buying cosmetics and — when the special occasion approaches — puts a lot of devotion in the full face make-up. Lately, she said to me: you know, I think women would benefit with a make-up manual that would show them how to make yourself look younger and rested. Well, Mum, here it is 🙂 Enjoy below post and I encourage all distinguished ladies to read on 🙂
How to make yourself look younger with make-up — the manual
Rejuvenating make-up — does it sound like something impossible to you? If yes, I’m here to dispel all your doubts: it’s simple and the secret is in HOW you do your make-up and what skill level you achieved but most of all what colours use and what kind of cosmetics take part in it 🙂
Here’s rejuvenating make-up — step by step
How to make yourself look younger with make-up, step one: FACE
Before you reach for that foundation and powder of yours, you should consider the use of light moisturiser and make-up base. For skin to gain that rested and radiant look, choose a make-up base that reflects light: highlighting make-up base has usually white and subtle pearl glow. Always keep at hand highlighting concealer which is not only able to conceal dark circles around eyes but also make your look have a radiant appearance and camouflage minor wrinkles — small amount tap in “strategically” where wrinkles show. You must remember that concealer cannot be visible and moderation is advised, otherwise, it will gather in the crease and instead of camouflaging wrinkles — will draw all the attention to them. Remember that concealer should be a tone lighter than skin colour. If you have prominent dark circles around eyes, you should consider the use of yellow concealer intended for under eye only. All sorts of pigmentations conceal with pink concealer. The rejuvenating foundation should be gentle, best if it had lifting action. It shouldn’t be too thick as it then may gather in the crease. Perfect would be a foundation a tone lighter than skin complexion (keep in mind, light colours rejuvenate and dark make you look older). Finish make-up with rice powder — its gentle, translucent, nourishes skin and makes it perfectly smooth. It will allow you to avoid unnatural colour and is able to reflect light so skin looks younger and healthier. Do not quit on blusher — it is a cosmetic which rejuvenates skin — but only when its shade is chosen appropriately. Vivid pink is a no, best would be blusher in shade of peach as it makes skin fresh, rested and healthy while optically slim it down.
How to make yourself look younger with make-up, step two: EYES
Rejuvenating make-up will work if you give up intense eye make-up and vivid colours. For elderly ladies best are low-key, soft colours: all light and sateen shades of nude, subtle beige and brown and pastel pink, subtle sky blue or almost transparent purple. It is best when rejuvenating make-up is performed with matte eye shadows – the pearl and shimmering eye shadows tend to gather in the crease. Forget about the expressive line around the eyes: subtle line on the upper eyelid or just on the external eye corner will do the work and eyelashes will appear denser. Choose a gentle, soft eye pencil or liquid eyeliner. Keep in mind, that experimenting is not a good idea when it comes to the colour so after the line is done, just gently mattify it: do it with the finger or cotton bud. Your look gains fresh appearance and eye will be optically bigger if you add to it line done with a white pencil along the water line. It is irreplaceable in rejuvenating make-up. Equally, important is the mascara — do not use colourful versions and just go for classic black. Perfect mascara not only ensures that colour but also regenerates eyelashes. The market offers mascaras based on amazing mineral pigments and vegetable components for eyelashes nourishment.
How to make yourself look younger with make-up, step three: LIPS
I have to start by saying that I advise against the use of vivid colours and matte lipsticks. These just look awful on lips as highlight every crease and wrinkles, make lips dry and gathers in the crease… simply the worst thing possible when you aspire to rejuvenate yourself with make-up. Dark colours make lips optically smaller while lips already get smaller with age. You’d better say goodbye to those shades of brown, burgundy and violet. If you like red lips, you should ask for some direction a professional make-up artist so that she or he can help you find the right shade — the one that will go well with your skin complexion. Another solution is lip gloss with red shade — it will reflect light and make your lips seem bigger. Cosmetic market is full of innovative lip glosses and lipsticks that are intended to make your lips pop. It is a merit of microcapsules which pop during the day and gently massage lips. All shades of pink and beige and nude will look amazing (you just have to make sure that your lips are not lighter than your skin tone because then it can only end up grotesque and unnatural). Rejuvenating make-up should include lipstick in colour close to natural skin colour and put on some colourless lip gloss, so your lips look more sensual 😉 My Mum loves using lipstick in a subtle shade of coral. It is delicate, a bit transparent cosmetic which creates amazing sateen glow. It’s just perfect to make yourself look younger.
As you can see, rejuvenating make-up is not that complicated. It just requires the use of properly chosen cosmetics. I hope that after reading my post you all will know how to make yourselves look younger with make-up. Good luck 🙂
