What do I do with unwanted cosmetic presents?

Holidays, birthdays and anniversaries are the events when changes of getting an unwanted present are really high. Since I’m not a fan of throwing working things away, I use them for other purposes. Find out what I do with cosmetic presents that I don’t always like.

COLOUR COSMETICS

Make-up products are the greatest part of cosmetics I receive. Unfortunately, some of them are completely mismatched. I don’t like the composition, shades, formulas; also, I don’t like some brands. And still, I don’t know why so many people give me such presents since obviously they haven’t got a clue what I use to apply make-up. I just don’t understand how one may think that buying a foundation or a powder for birthday is a good idea. As far as I’m concerned, there was no-one to look into my make-up bag and note down the shades of products I use. Therefore, what can you do with a foundation? If it has highlighting particles, it can be used as spray tights. Mix it with a body balm and then distribute evenly all over your skin. And what about a powder? It can replace a dry shampoo. Just dust your hair with it, basically just the roots to be more precise, and proceed with combing. A beautiful hairdo is ready.

How to use other colour cosmetics? Bronzing powder can be used to shape your legs, cleavage and shoulders. Apply it with a big, fluffy brush and the effect you’re going to obtain will be really good. Colour eye and lip pencils can be used for face painting at one of kids’ parties. Eye-shadows – you can use them to dye your hair and nail polishes can be used for decorating glass containers. Also, by applying a nail polish you can prevent the potatoes from ruining your tights.

CARE COSMETICS

Here the issue is similar to colour cosmetics. Who may know which ingredients of care cosmetics are appropriate for my skin? Believe me, it’s really hard to choose a product which will deliver the effect we expect it to. The same applies to fragrance, consistency and brands. Just imagine, you receive a balm which contains a load of chemical substances. To make the matter even worse, your skin is super sensitive. And what’s now? Let me tell you how to use this mismatched present to our benefit.

For example, hair conditioner works perfectly as a shaving cream or as a fabric softener. Just remember to dissolve it appropriately. Similarly, you can take the advantage of a body balm or a hand cream. You can use these products either to moisturize your feet or polish leather. Probably nobody has received a toothpaste as a birthday present but I think it’s worth mentioning the alternative use of this cosmetic. Well, a toothpaste can serve to dry out acne and other minor scars.

I hope I managed to throw you some ideas how to use unwanted cosmetic presents. Have you got your own solutions for dealing with this troublesome situation?
