…they won’t come back. Beauty ideas we say ‘goodbye’ to with relief

It’s typical for the realm of fashion and beauty to shock with the new ideas from time to time. Some make-up trends don’t make us more beautiful, sadly. I guess, they are introduced just to shock and make life a little bit more troublesome. Here is the list of weird trends that we don’t have to bother with any longer.

1. GLITTER ROOT

which is a parting coated with glitter. It was supposed to rule at parties and in clubs but it appeared to be a very problematic idea which wasn’t well-thought-out. Glitter applied along the parting, a bun, or to any other spot on the head looked like ‘astral dandruff’. It resided everywhere, including eyelashes where it had an easy access to the eyes causing discomfort.

2. HEAVY BODY CONTOURING

of not only face but also cleavage, collarbones, shoulders, legs, feet… no way. More than enough is too much. It’s also worth realizing that such make-up consumed a lot of time. It’s better to reach for a good book instead. During this time that you had to devote to body contouring, you might read at least 20 pages of a well-written novel.

3. SWOLLEN LIPS

were a real boom when Kylie Jenner had launched her first device which sucked (yes, you are getting this right) and made lips bigger. This beauty trend went viral really fast and ended up in some grotesque corner because suddenly woman’s lips on Instagram and Facebook became just massive. Rather overblown than puffy and far from being sensual.

4. DARK (ALMOST PITCH-BLACK) LIPS

were attractive for aliens, SF fans and zombie, I guess. Lips in a shade of aubergine, blackberry or dark green and black didn’t gift us with an extra charm. They made us look like… well… probably trendy but definitely unbecoming. Leave a black lipstick for a Halloween party.

5. COLOUR MASCARAS

are an interesting issue. No-one knows why is that but eyelashes coated with a green or blue mascara lose their charm. The moment we apply such a cosmetic, all our skin imperfections and flaws become double as visible. What’s even worse, these two colours of mascara enlarge dark circles under eyes. A black mascara is unexcelled.
