[DIY] Recipe for an Efficacious Hand Cream and Nail Oil

Let me welcome you warmly on this beautiful morning! I’m looking throughout the window and I’m feeling that today is a perfect day to make something cool, like for example some DIY beauty product. What would you say for… a cosmetic that will help you repair your hands and nails? You like this idea? Great!

Today I’ll show you how easy it is to create your own, customized, budget-friendly, all-natural and efficacious hand care products. And let me assure you that the recipe for DIY hand cream that I’m going to give you in a moment works way better than most of the ready-made hand creams sold in drugstores. So, without further ado, let’s go straight ahead!

DIY Home hand cream

This cream is super gentle and envelops hands with a soothing protective coating. Additionally, it has a very pleasant aroma, an invigorating one I would say. With this product you can be sure that your hands will become smooth and pleasant to the touch. This cream also shields skin from irritations, replenishes with water and softens it.

Ingredients for your home hand cream

  • 2 spoons of a base ingredient (e.g. oil blend)
  • 2 spoons of shea butter/cocoa butter/or other cosmetic butter of your choice
  • 1 teaspoon of glycerin
  • 1 spoon of aloe leaf extract
  • a jar or a plastic container

Directions for making home hand cream

First, melt shea butter with a base ingredient using either a water bath or microwave – it’s easier to combine the ingredients when they are runny. Add glycerin and aloe leaf extract stirring continuously. If you feel like it, you can enrich your home hand cream with a drop or two of essential oil. My choice is eucalyptus oil because it’s antiseptic. Pour your product into a container and you can start using it once it solidifies. I think such home cosmetic is a great gift idea for a friend, mom, grandma… a loved one? 🙂

DIY Home nail oil

This oil is just amazing! Not only is it able to restore good health to the nail plate by replenishing it with water and lipids (it’s able to repair extremely damaged nails) but also it leaves the nails brighter and prevents discolorations. In general, unrefined plant oils repair and hydrate nails, skin and hair. Most of them are also antiseptic.

Ingredients for your home nail oil

  • 2 teaspoons of castor oil
  • 1 teaspoon of avocado oil/olive oil
  • a few drops of lemon juice/apple vinegar

Directions for making home nail oil

It’s super easy! Take a bowl and pour there castor oil, either avocado or olive oil and top it up with either lemon juice or apple vinegar. Combine all ingredients and pour your nail oil to a small bottle. I’d recommend using a dark-glass bottle that has a dropper because this will ease applying your homemade beauty product.

And that is all 🙂 I hope you will be totally satisfied with the hand products I’ve presented to you.

Don’t forget to write a comment to tell me if you are happy with the results. I’d also be glad to receive some suggestions concerning other home beauty products you’d like me to share with you. A shampoo bar? A face cream? A face serum? Leave me a comment 🙂 Take care!
